This Danica Deal Won’t Go Away……To Replace Junior?

I am beginning to think that NASCAR beat writer Mike Mulhern has been hanging out with Jeremy Mayfield. He has been posting some pretty interesting stuff on his website lately and we here at UWS have taken the bait on a couple and been proven wrong shortly thereafter.

The latest story has Danica Patrick coming to NASCAR and driving the full Sprint Cup season in 2010 for Rick Hendrick. Not only driving for Rick Hendrick but replacing Dale Earnhardt Junior. Junior will bring JR motorsports to the Cup Series along with Brad Keselowski this making room for Danica.

IF this was to happen who would run the Hendrick Nationwide Series program? If Junior is struggling right now, imagine how much Danica would struggle.

It isn’t because I am a die-hard Junior fan, this one just doesn’t make sense………

I like the Jr. going to Stewart/Haas scenario better, if Danica does go to Hendrick. I still don’t think we will see Danica in a cup car in 2010 at Daytona, with Hendrick or Rousch, or anyone else. I think this is all leverage for bargaining for herself with the Indy guys.

I think Danica leaving the IRL would be back for the series and good for the NASCAR series. I agree that she would not be successful in the first year no matter what car she was in.

I don’t see Jr. leaving Hendricks even if he does bring Jr. Motorsports to Cup.

    Dave,

I don’t see Jr. doing any better at Stewart/Hass than he is at Hendrick.
