Christmas came early for AJ Allmendinger today. He just got a new job driving the #22 Shell Pnzoil Dodge for Roger Penske. To me this is a huge shot in the arm for AJ. Gone are the worries regarding sponsorship, gone are the worries regarding the stability of the organization. Now all AJ needs to do is take the equipment and drive. No more excuses, if he is going to win at the Cup level this is the best opportunity he has had yet.

The horribly kept secret that Greg Zipadelli was leaving JGR as Joey Logano’s Crew Chief is now reality. Zippy is heading to Stewart-Haas to become the Competition Director but he will also have additional duties. He will be Danica Patrick’s Crew Chief in her limited schedule in the Cup Series in 2012.

Not a bad move if you ask me……..What do you guys think?
