Gentlemen Start The Season!!

Today (unlike the past couple of years) is the official beginning of the 2012 NASCAR season. Call it Spring Training if you will. After a brief (and stupid) hiatus the Sprint Cup Series will conduct a 2 day test and Daytona. This is great news to those of us who are considered NASCAR junkies, cars on the track makes the gloominess of a Midwest winter seem a little bit brighter.
There are many reasons that this test session is a good thing. There are a TON of drivers on new teams, teams with new crew chiefs, and teams with new manufacturers. All of this meaning that track time is critical. OH, and did I mention that Danica Patrick will be there too? (I am sure SPEED will do their best to remind of that)
The media needs this event more than we do in some ways. The big story yesterday in the news and twitter were about rumors of Dale Jr. getting a twitter account, Michael Waltrip pushing his book, and Jenna Fryer talking about her daughter’s fascination with the Charlotte Bobcats.
Thank goodness there are cars on the track today.

Martin and Gordon are teamed up together again. That is not surprising seeing how well they worked together last year.

I watched a little of the drafting with #5 and #88 after work. I am always jacked up this time of year ready for the season to start. Daytona is such a great event. Being an 88 fan, I usually grow dissatisfied fairly quickly into the season. LOL. A Twitter for June Bug? Wow. Coming out of the shell a bit. Public girlfriend, twitter…….WOW. I LIKE.
I saw his neice Karsyn won her little race last weekend. Racing blood all through the family.
I am really excited to see what Kasey can do with STABILITY. With a team that is not in financial turmoil/ ownership issues/ 1 yr deals/ cc swaps like panty changing…etc. Talent is there, the stability has never been.

I’ve been keeping up with testing at Jayski’s but I haven’t yet seen any video. It will be interesting to see how all the new rules and regulations will affect the racing at Daytona.
Football season is coming to a close and baseball Spring training is more than two months away. I don’t watch basketball or hockey so the pickings are slim at this time of year. If cars are on the track Spring can’t be too far away.
